Welcome to the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI)
Founded in 2008 by a coalition of leading electronics companies, the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative has grown into one of the most utilized and respected resources for companies addressing conflict minerals issues. Our flagship Conflict-Free Smelter Program offers companies and their suppliers an independent, third-party audit tool with a compliance protocol that determines which smelters and refiners can be validated as “conflict-free,” in line with current best practices. We also offer our CFSI Reporting Template, which helps companies disclose and communicate about smelters in their supply chains, and we produce white papers and guidance documents on conflict minerals sourcing and reporting on a regular basis.
Over 120 companies participate in the CFSI today, and we have forged vibrant partnerships with other leadership groups in this area. We also run a bi-annual Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative Workshop, which brings together hundreds of representatives from industry, government and civil society for updates, in-depth discussions and guidance on best practices to help companies make informed choices about conflict minerals in their supply chains.
Our website is currently under construction. Thank you for your patience. If you have any additional questions, please contact us.
